Hedi Slimane

A tribute to my biggest idol ....Hedi Slimane

I think it is quite unusual for a girl to talk about a male clothing designer lol.  I usually don't care much about guys stuff , but I have to admit I love his work so much that I wish I could be a guy to wear his stuff.  He is like a legend to me and because of him we now see slim fit in men's clothing.
Hedi worked for YSL from 1997-2000.  He decided to leave the house in 1999, and was invited to create his own label within the Gucci Group. He was also invited to join the Prada Group to design for the Jil Sander label.  Instead, he chose to work at Christian Dior, where he became the creative designer for men’s clothing, and designed the line of Dior Homme in 2000. In 2002 he won the International Designer of the Year. In 2003, he was appointed creative director for Christian Dior men's fragrances, including Eau Noire, Cologne Blanche, Bois d'Argent, Dior homme, and Dior Homme Intense. He also created the first skincare lines for Dior, the "Dermo" system.
In July 2007, Slimane decided to leave the house of Dior. In an attempt to convince him to stay, Dior's parent company, LVMH offered to finance Slimane's own signature line. Negotiations lasted for six and a half months Slimane rejected their offer in February of 2008. He stated on his website that he did not want to lose his creative freedom, sell his name, or give up the control of his own brand. He is expected to debut a line of his own which will include womenswear.
It is sad that he left Dior because all his design piece are now can only be found on ebay with ridiculous price.
Here are some of his work for Dior Homme starting with the most recent year:
You can visit his official website to see all his work Hedi Slimane.

For Winter 2008-March 2007:

Hats

I love hats..they are great accessories for someone who want to add a bit of style to their daily outfit when going out.  I love to collect hats..I still remember I did not want to leave the shop in Tokyo, because there were so many cute hats.  This fall Anthropologie carry some cute hats that I want to try on.  Maybe I will stop by the store in Soho this Saturday..hopefully I will be able to find another cute one for this Fall.

Here are some of the hats they have at Anthropologie right now.

First one is called Flora Fedora.  It has three flowers design at the brim.  Wonder how this will look like in person.  It's made in Italy and the price is only $54.

Next one is Mademoiselle Et Garcon Beret and it is made in Belgium.  It has a pricey price tag of $118.  I will try this though probably not gonna buy it since I think it's quite expensive.
I love the flower design of the hat though..

3.  Use as a sun-soother to calm dry, itchy sun-exposed skin after a day at the beach or pool.
4.  Mix with your hair conditioner for a deep, nourishing hair treatment.
5.  Apply on the skin around your nose when you have a cold to repair chapped and peeling skin.

6.  Apply on your eyelids before your powder eye makeup to intensify the color and make it last longer.
7.  Use on your dry feet before putting on your workout shoes, as the heat from the exercise helps the shea butter soak in better, leaving feet extra soft.
8.  Put some around your hairline before color application to protect the skin from stains.
9.  Heat it up with your hands and use it as a massage balm for fatigued muscle and joints.

Looking Back

I read one of the Japanese magazine and they did the comparison of the make up look from 1980 to 2010.
It's interesting how make up change through out the years and it seems now we are focusing more looking natural than we are in the 80s.

The magazine use the same model for all the looks so you can see the difference on her face by just using different type of make up look.

Here is the look of the early 80s
Dark color eyebrow with matte lips
Early 1980s look
Look of late 1980s - fuschia  lips with heavy eye brow
late 1980s look

Makeup Look for Fall 2010

Found few make up looks that I like for this Fall season.
Most of the look are leaning toward natural color instead of dark.
I don't like heavy eye make up or dark lipstick color, because it make your face looks older.
I think it's best to keep your make up as natural looking as possible.

First look is more pink tone and I think you can have this look for both day and night.

Lips~

Lips are one the most sensitive parts of the body. Beautiful and healthy lips enhances the beauty of our face many times giving an appealing and sexy look. They also serve very important functions while eating and speaking. They are covered on the outside by a thin layer of skin and on the inside by transparent mucous membranes. They neither have any oil glands nor do they possess any kind of skin like protective layer to protect it from outside cold, wind or dryness in atmosphere. Lips require special care, especially during harsh winter weather.
Follow these simple tips to take care of your lips.
